The Barb Thierry Honorary Scholarship
The Barb Thierry Scholarship aims to honor and continue the lasting impact of a teacher’s vocation on the lives of his or her students. Barb Thierry served as both teacher and principal in her 42 years at Norfolk Christian, serving a few years at our Beach Campus and most of her career at the Norfolk Lower School. Barb was recruited by founder John Dunlap and embraced the founding spirit and mission of Norfolk Christian, as seen by her lifelong dedication to creating young Ambassadors for Christ.
In 2014, an endowed scholarship was established in the name of Barb Thierry by a former student, Dr. Caralee Capone, and her husband Howard Bethel. It is designed to honor Ms. Thierry’s legacy by encouraging Norfolk Christian students in their pursuit of Christian ministry and/or ongoing education at a Christian college or university.
