Why Choose a Norfolk Christian Education?

College-Preparatory Academics

A college-preparatory curriculum combined with teachers who are fiercely dedicated to each student’s academic, spiritual and emotional growth makes Ambassadors excellent students, with the confidence to pursue their wildest dreams. Deeper Learning at our Lower Schools creates advanced critical thinkers and problem-solvers from their very first days in a classroom, while they also learn to be compassionate caretakers of God’s world. A wide array of Honors, AP, Dual Enrollment and Online offerings allows Upper School students to focus their interests and talents as they prepare for life after high school. Most NCS seniors are accepted into their first-choice colleges, with Ambassadors attending prestigious universities throughout the country.

Award-Winning Programs

A highlight of the Norfolk Christian School experience is the wide variety of activities offered for all age levels outside of the classroom. From art to reading, robotics, chess, chorus, sports and many others, Lower School students can explore a broad array of interests as they develop their gifts. Competitive athletics begin in sixth grade with more than 50 teams competing in 20 conference-driven sports. Fine Arts opportunities for Middle and High Schoolers include vocal, instrumental, theatrical and visual art pursuits and structured academic enrichments, dozens of clubs and a commitment to local community service allow Upper School students to make meaningful contributions through the passions and causes they value most.

Unshakable Christian Worldview

Nothing is more important as we train Ambassadors for Christ than preparing them for a lifelong relationship with their Heavenly Father. That’s why a Christian worldview is central to everything we do: in our classrooms, on our fields and courts, our performance stages and everywhere in the middle. This focus creates a unique atmosphere around our campuses and forms the backbone of the strong student-teacher relationships that are such a hallmark of Norfolk Christian. Visitors often comment that it feels different in our hallways than anywhere they’ve ever been. We’d like to take credit for that ¬†— we think NCS is pretty great — but the credit all belongs to the Lord, as we work together to please Him through our relationships with each other.
