MEET OUR AMBASSADORS
Lisa Pruhs Hatcher
NCS Mom, Coach, Alumna (’84)
Lisa spent her life at Norfolk Christian being mentored by many coaches and teachers and building friendships she had no idea would last a lifetime. “I am so blessed to be close to a lot of my classmates and former teammates, even after three decades! We have gone through every stage of life together and are now supporting each other through having children in college. My high school best friends are still my best friends today. I can’t express what a difference it makes to do life with godly friends who share your spiritual priorities. Norfolk Christian gave me that. It has been the foundation that gave me stability when I was young and has tied every part of my life together through the years. I could not imagine life without my Ambassador family.” Lisa is now a girls volleyball coach herself and leads a large in-home Bible study for middle school girls called GNO.
NCS 4th grader
Steven spent his first year at Norfolk Christian in 2017-18 and immediately caught the attention of his teachers and principal through his compassion for others. His kindheartedness and concern for those around him earned him the highest honor given out at Norfolk Christian – the 2018 Ambassador award. Ambassador awards are given at the end of the year to students who have consistently displayed the servant heart of Jesus. Steven is a shining example of a young man who is already an Ambassador for Christ both in his classroom and in his community.
NCS alumna (‘16)
Christina graduated with High Honors in 2016 and received a dual academic and athletic scholarship to Virginia State University, where she is a starter on the Womens Tennis team and a Manufacturing Engineering major. Receiving the Rookie of the Year award as a freshman, she has twice been named to the Blue Academic Team and continually holds one of the highest grade point averages of all VSU athletes. In 2018, she was honored as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Scholar. Christina’s love of complex problem-solving has already made her a stand-out young professional in the field and earned her an internship during the summer of 2018 with Dominion Energy. “Being at Norfolk Christian was and is still such a huge part of my life. My teachers and coaches poured so much into me that I will never forget. They cared deeply for me and that made me want to keep pushing in every area.” Christina is known on the campus of VSU for the same qualities she exhibited here at NCS – leadership, scholarship, sportsmanship, and an unwavering love for the Lord.
