The Virginia Mae Midkiff Memorial Scholarship
The Virginia Mae Midkiff Scholarship honors the memory of a beloved mother and Norfolk Christian teacher. It also leaves a legacy by encouraging students to pursue high academic achievement and embody Matthew 5:16.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
Virginia Mae Midkiff served as a teacher of business education courses at Norfolk Christian High School in the 1960s. She embraced Christian education and high academic achievement and embodied Matthew 5:16. She prayed daily that anyone, from students to strangers, who encountered her, would see Jesus in her life. In 2014, a college scholarship was established in memory of Virginia Mae Midkiff by her daughter and alumna, Carolyn Midkiff Strahl ‘69.
