Middle School at Norfolk Christian is a safe place for students to find their way from being grown-up kids to becoming young adults. In the three years from sixth through eighth grades, middle schoolers encounter one of the biggest growth and transition periods of their lives, developmentally, socially, physically and spiritually. Guiding them through that transition is not a task for just anyone, which is why our Middle School faculty is a group of masterful teachers who loves and is called to work with this age group. Our most important work is to prepare these young minds for high school and their hearts for a lifelong relationship with their Heavenly Father.
Many new opportunities open up to students starting in sixth grade, including competitive Middle School sports, student government and chapel leadership committees, academic pursuits like the Scripps National Spelling Bee and the National Geographic Bee, and Performing Arts groups like Drum Line and competitive chorus and band. Seventh graders may also try out for JV level sports in addition to participating in middle school leagues. By eighth grade, students may tryout for all Varsity sports and audition for competitive high school performing arts groups like Show Choir, Specialty bands and the A Cappella ensemble.
