Upper School News

The Upper School office will be open this summer Monday through Thursday from 9am until 2pm, with the exception of the week of July 4th.  All campuses will be closed from July 3rd – 7th.

You will find summer homework for rising students of grades six through 12 under Parents - Summer Homework on the NCS website.  Homework is assigned in reading for all grade levels and Bible at the High School level. Most children will not have homework outside of these areas unless they are scheduled to take AP or Honors courses.  If your child requires summer math enrichment or remediation, you should have received a mailed letter and email from our Math Department earlier in May.

Supply lists for middle school are included at this same link.  You will also find some specific course supply lists for high school.  Most high school courses distribute supply lists on their syllabi at the beginning of the year so do not worry if you do not see your child’s courses listed.

A schedule of summer workout information will be forthcoming from our Athletic Department.  Tryout days for fall sports will be included as well.  Please email if you have questions about your child’s participation.  Remember that a sports physical done after May 1, 2017 must be on file before students can practice or tryout.  This is a state requirement.

Mark your calendars now for our all-campus Back-to-School picnic and family day on Saturday, August 26th.  We will have lunch and activities for all age levels beginning at 11:30am, followed by our first home football game on Moore Family Field at 2pm.  Look for more specifics about this in July and plan to join your Ambassador family as we kick off a brand new year!

Please read the Foreign Language Department Update to see how our teachers are integrating Christ in their classes.  That update is available under the Spiritual Life tab at the Classroom Integration link.

Community Service

Community Service is defined as a volunteer service for which a student meets the needs of another person, group, or organization outside of the student’s family. The student volunteer should not receive monetary payment or academic school credit for this service. NCS requires 20 hours of Community Service each school year from each high school student. Service hours may be applied to four categories: meeting the needs of a church, our school, a mission trip, or others. Hours must be documented with the form at the left under High School Policies.
