Along with leading the NCS Girls Tennis team to their first-ever State Championship, Coach and NCS Board President Brad Hobbs was named as VISAA’s Coach of the Year for Division 2. Senior Virginia Hobbs had a history-making season with the best record of any Norfolk Christian tennis player in the program’s history, going undefeated in singles (16-0) and dropping only 2 matches in doubles (14-2). Fellow senior Jahveesha Combs, the 2017 VISAA Player of the Year, joined her on the First Team All-State and juniors Catherine Hobbs and Adelle Yanez were named to the Second Team All-State, adding up to the biggest representation the Ambassadors have ever had at the state level. What a banner year for this talented group of girls and their coach!
