Senior Makenzie Hayes received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award this week for the many volunteer hours she devotes to serving others through church, children’s activities, softball camps, and missions trips. Head of School Mr. Tubbs had the honor of surprising Makenzie with the award, which is signed by the President “on behalf of a grateful nation”. We are so proud of Makenzie’s heart for serving others!
New high schoolers were inducted into all of our Honor Societies over the last month, including the National Honor Society, the Tri-M National Music Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society and the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica Spanish Honor Society. Students must maintain a minimum 3.5 overall gpa to be considered for any honor society; membership is based on excellent academic performance, service, leadership and exemplary character. Congratulations to these hard-working students!
Norfolk Christian Lower School students took Valentines Day to the community this month during their annual “Love Out Loud” celebration. Kindergarteners from both campuses visited friends at The Ballentine and shared homemade cards, Bible verses, songs and games. Norfolk and Beach Campus first graders visited our parters at PiN ministry, where they helped pack care packages for the homeless. Beach second and third graders made new friends at Bayside Recreational Center, while fourth and fifth graders served their community at the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center and the Eastern Shore Chapel Pantry. We love watching these young Ambassadors for Christ. Happy Love Out Loud Day!
We are excited to offer a new summer program at our Norfolk Lower School just for rising Pre-K and Kindergarten students. The 8-week session will reinforce early academic skills and prepare children to excel in the fall, while providing plenty of summer fun along the way. Led by certified teachers, Norfolk Christian’s Summer Enrichment Preschool is the perfect place for your child to make new friends and have a blast all summer long while getting ready for a great school year ahead.

Ten Middle School finalists competed today in the last school phase of the National Geographic GeoBee, a competition that tests students’ knowledge of world geography. Congratulations to Third Place winner Andrew, Second Place winner Grace and First Place winner Don! Don will now study to take the qualifying test for state competition!

Students from both campuses gathered on the stage at Tab Church to present their annual Christmas pageant. Close to 300 lower schoolers from PK through 5th grade celebrated the birth of Jesus and reminded us of the greatest gift ever given.
